Suction regulator
The intake regulator is mounted directly on the screw compressor. It regulates the air volume flow that is drawn in by the screw compressor via the intake filter.
Functional principle of the intake regulator:
The intake regulator has only one main valve. This works
as an infinitely variable control valve and as a tightly closing shut-off valve. In full-load operation, the intake cross-section is fully open with a minimum pressure drop. In partial load operation
When the system is stopped, this valve quickly and automatically closes the entire intake cross-section completely.
The multi-functions of the regulator are initiated by just one flange-mounted control unit
Minimum pressure maintenance valve
The minimum pressure valve is located at the compressed air inlet of the air aftercooler.
It fulfills two functions:
1) As a pressure maintenance valve, it prevents the pressure from dropping below a minimum overpressure of 4.5 bar if there is no back pressure. This pressure is necessary to ensure the oil supply to the compressor. At the same time, this minimum overpressure is required for good oil separation.
2) As a non-return valve, it prevents the return flow of compressed air from the compressed air network or the pressure vessel into the compressor system. This allows the separator vessel to be completely relieved when the system is switched off.
The valve operates automatically. The minimum pressure valve may only be set by persons authorized by the manufacturer!
Intake air filter
The intake air filter is built into the housing and connected to the intake regulator via a ventilation hose. The
micro dry filter with a fineness of 10 µm is used to filter the intake air. The filter can be cleaned several times
before it needs to be replaced. Only use original replacement filters!
Pressure transmitter
The pressure transmitter, for all systems with electronic control (RENNERtronic / -Plus), is connected to the compressed air outlet (mains pressure) or, in the case of RENNERtronic-Plus, additionally in the internal system (system pressure of the system).
system (system pressure) of the system. It gives the control unit the corresponding signal for the set switch-on and switch-off pressure or relief and idling pressure.
Fine separator cartridge
Four fine separator cartridges are used to remove oil from the air in the compressor system and to recover the finely dispersed residual oil in droplet form from the compressed air after pre-separation.
These cartridges are designed as interchangeable elements and are easily positioned on separator heads
Mode of operation:
The compressed air still containing oil from the pre-separation of the oil separator tank flows from the outside into the cartridge through the filter material. The residual oil collects on the
wall and flows into the cartridge end disk in the interior. The separated oil is fed back to the screw compressor via the suction line with sight glass and non-return valve.
The low-oil compressed air exits via the minimum pressure valve at the top.
Oil suction sight glass / oil suction non-return valve
The sight glasses of the individual cartridges are located at the connecting hole of the two double separator heads below the minimum pressure valve. They show the oil flow from the oil flow from the fine separator cartridge to the compressor stage.
When the system is started, the sight glass is filled due to the accumulation of oil during standstill. After a few minutes, an air/oil mixture is displayed. Oil separation takes place in the cartridge. If no oil is visible in the sight glass after a long period of operation, there may be damage, e.g. a blocked suction line.... The oil separated in the cartridge is then conveyed into the into the network with the compressed air, which also leads to oil loss. The oil extraction non-return valve (positioned on the compressor) prevents the fine separator cartridge from flooding with returned oil when the system is switched off.

Oil filter / thermostat unit
The spin-on oil filters remove impurities from the compressor oil. They are screwed onto the return nipple by hand.
The filter fineness is 5-10µm. The integrated thermostat unit regulates the compressor oil temperature by opening a second oil circuit to the oil cooler.
KTY temperature sensor
The KTY temperature sensor (flange DL outlet compressor) for all systems with electronic control (RENNERtronic / -Plus), monitors the maximum permissible operating temperature
of the system, which is set to 110°C. When this temperature is reached, the circuit is interrupted and the system switches off automatically.
Safety valve
The safety valve is installed upstream of the fine separator cartridge on the separator tank. It limits the maximum pressure occurring in the system to 1-2 bar above the respective operating pressure (final pressure).
operating pressure (final pressure). The safety valve blows off if the final pressure is exceeded due to a fault.
